Whichever exams it is, it’s always challenging. However, there are certain exams that are considered to be the toughest. Here is a list of the top 10 toughest exams across the world:

Gaokao Exam
This is the very toughest examination and this is given by Chinese students in their third and final year of high school. It’s also the lone criterion for admission into Chinese universities. The Gaokao Exam includes exams in mathematics, Chinese literature, and a foreign language. Based on the candidate’s interest, they can choose between liberal arts and Science for which they’ll have to take additional tests. If they choose liberal arts, they will have to take tests related to History, Politics, and Geography and if they choose science, they will take Physics, Chemistry, and Biology tests.
UPSC – Union Public Service Commission
UPSC is India’s central agency which conducts exams like (CSE) to recruit candidates into top government services like IAS, IPS, IFS, etc., UPSC recruits candidates for both civil services as well as defense services. There are three stages in UPSC civil services exam namely preliminary(objective test), Main exam(written test), and personality test (interview). The Exam was started in 1922 and is held once a year. Question paper is given in either Hindi or English language based on the candidate’s preference.
JEE Advance – Joint Entrance Exams Advance
JEE Advance is also very toughest examination and this is held annually in India. It is organized by one of the seven zonal IITs under the guidance of the joint admission board(JAB) on a round-robin rotation pattern for the qualifying candidate of the JEE Mains. The purpose of this exam is to get admission into undergraduate Engineering, Science and Architecture.
GATE – Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering
GATE examination conducted in India which mainly focuses on a basic and comprehensive understanding of Engineering Subjects and science for admission into the master’ Program and Job in Public Sector Companies. At present, GATE is being conducted in 29 disciplines. The verbal, numerical, and technical abilities are tested through this exam.
GRE – Graduate Record Examination
The Graduate Record Examinations is a standardized test that is required for admission into many graduate schools in the United States and Canada and a few other countries. The GRE is owned and administered by Educational Testing Service. There are no eligibility criteria for this test. However, candidates are expected to have completed their undergraduate courses.
Mensa
The Mensa Admissions Test is given for the purpose of admission into MENSA. Mensa is the oldest and largest Intelligence quotient (IQ) society in the world. Mensa is one of the best non-profit organizations which is generally open to people who score at the 98th percentile or higher on a supervised and standardized IQ or other approved intelligence test.
CCIE – Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE certification) is a series of technical certifications for senior networking professionals who design, build, implement, maintain and troubleshoot complex enterprise networking infrastructures. In order to be eligible for this exam, a person should have at least 4 to 5 years of experience in networking.
Master Sommelier Diploma Exams
Master Sommelier Diploma is the exam which is conducted by the Court of Master Sommeliers. And the Court of Master Sommeliers is an educational organization that was established in April 1977. This mainly focuses on beverage services and this was established so that various quality standards for different beverage services can be improved in hotels and restaurants. It is considered the toughest and hardest exam in the world and is a wine-tasting test for expert winemakers.
CFA – Chartered Financial Analyst

All Souls Prize Fellowship Exams
It is an exam conducted by All Souls College at Oxford University. Every autumn season, All Souls College looks to conduct Examination Fellows, also known as Prize Fellows. The College typically selects two from a field of one hundred or more candidates. The Fellowships last long for seven years and cannot be renewed. The candidates who have a degree from Oxford and have completed all the necessary examinations are eligible to apply for this exam
